Ryogoku Monten Hall will host a four-day composer-performer festival in August

Concerts on August 1, 2, 8, and 9 combine performances with guided conversations with the artists.

Ryogoku Monten Hall will hold Ryogokubashi no Hotori de Ongakusai 2026 on August 1, 2, 8, and 9. Each performance begins at 15:00, with doors opening at 14:30. This year's theme is composers performing their own work.

Each day starts with a recital planned and performed by the featured artist, followed by a conversation with navigator Midori Tanaka about the program and the performer's approach. The four programs feature Akiko Yamane, Rei Haimachi, Nobuaki Sato, and Philipp Henkel on separate dates.

The venue is Monten Hall at Murasawa Building 1-1F, 1-3-9 Ryogoku, Sumida City, about five minutes on foot from JR Ryogoku Station's west exit. Capacity is 40 with unreserved seating. Advance tickets are ¥3,500 general, ¥2,000 student or senior aged 65 or over, and ¥2,500 for Monten members; same-day tickets cost ¥500 more. Proof is required for discounted tickets. Streaming tickets are ¥1,000, and preschool children cannot attend the hall performance.
