Edo-Tokyo Museum and MOT will stay open until as late as 21:00 on August Fridays

Summer Night Museum 2026 offers free entry for students after 17:00 and discounted admission for general and senior visitors to eligible exhibitions.

Edo-Tokyo Museum in Ryogoku and the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo near Kiyosumi-Shirakawa will join Summer Night Museum 2026 on the four Fridays from August 7 through August 28. Participating metropolitan museums will extend their hours until as late as 21:00.

Visitors entering after 17:00 can receive special admission terms for eligible exhibitions: students enter free, while general visitors and people aged 65 or older receive a discount roughly equivalent to a group rate. Students and senior visitors should bring proof of eligibility. Children of junior-high-school age and younger can enter eligible exhibitions free throughout the program period, with proof where required.

The two addresses are 1-4-1 Yokoami, Sumida City, and 4-1-1 Miyoshi, Koto City, inside Kiba Park. Exact closing times, admission prices, and shop or cafe benefits vary by venue and exhibition, so check the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's linked facility information before visiting.
