Fukagawa Experience World brings crafts and performing arts to Morishita Culture Center on July 26

The program combines free traditional performances with advance-booking and walk-in workshops for tatami, Edo wind chimes, Japanese binding, and more.

Morishita Culture Center will hold Fukagawa Experience World, a festival themed around Japanese culture and making things, from 10:00 to 15:00 on Sunday, July 26, 2026. The venue is within walking distance of both Morishita and Kiyosumi-Shirakawa stations.

A free lobby performance from 12:00 to 13:00 features folk singing and daikagura. Workshops include mini tatami mats, Edo wind-chime painting, tea, Japanese bookbinding, miniature dioramas, and a Corinth game. A wooden-toy activity, the Norakuro railway diorama display, coloring, and a post-office booth accept walk-in visitors or require no advance booking.

Many workshops require advance booking and cost ¥300 to ¥1,800; capacities and age rules differ. Online applications remain available through July 21, with telephone and counter applications available afterward where space remains. The address is 3-12-17 Morishita, Koto City. Check the official page for current availability and payment requirements before applying.
