The Sumida Hokusai Museum’s 10th anniversary series began with Hokusai Manga and drawing manuals

The Ryogoku-area museum introduced printed drawing manuals by Hokusai and his pupils.

The Sumida Hokusai Museum held the first exhibition in its 10th anniversary program from March 17 to May 24, 2026.

The exhibition focused on etehon, printed drawing manuals for people learning to draw. It introduced Hokusai Manga, drawing manuals by Hokusai and his pupils, and works influenced by them.

The venue was the Sumida Hokusai Museum at 2-7-2 Kamezawa. The exhibition has ended, but the confirmed dates and theme are useful for readers following the museum’s 10th anniversary year.
