Edo-Tokyo Museum in Ryogoku is hosting Excavated Japanese Archipelago 2026 through July 26
The traveling archaeology exhibition gathering recent excavation finds from across Japan has started on the museum's fifth floor.
Edo-Tokyo Museum says its special exhibition Excavated Japanese Archipelago 2026 opened on Saturday, June 13, and will run through Sunday, July 26, 2026, in the fifth-floor exhibition room.
The exhibition introduces recent excavation results from around Japan and also includes a local section about Kasamori Inari belief based on finds from the Haramachi Nishi site in Bunkyo Ward. The museum says the project is being shown in Ryogoku for the first time in about five years after the renewal reopening.
For visitors, the practical point is that the exhibition is covered by regular collection admission rather than a separate special ticket. Opening hours are 9:30 to 17:30, Saturdays stay open until 19:30, and the museum is closed on Mondays and on Tuesday, July 21, while Monday, July 20 is open. If you are planning a Ryogoku stop, it is worth checking the latest museum notice before you go.
