Tokyo Skytree Town holds free uchimizu events on August 8 and 9
Anyone can join the rainwater-sprinkling activity, and ice pillars that visitors can touch are being added this year.
Tokyo Skytree Town will hold a summer uchimizu event on Saturday, August 8, and Sunday, August 9, 2026. It begins at 4:00 p.m. each day at Sorami-zaka Hiroba on the first floor of Tokyo Solamachi and continues until the available water runs out.
Uchimizu is the custom of sprinkling water on the ground to ease summer heat. The venue will use stored rainwater and provide ladles and buckets, allowing visitors to join without bringing equipment. Ice pillars that can be viewed and touched are also being added this year.
Participation is free. The August 8 program lists Naruto stablemaster, Naruto stable wrestlers and Sorakara-chan, while wrestlers and Sorakara-chan are listed for August 9. Because the event ends when the water runs out, check the official page before making a special trip.
