Tomoko Konoike's summer-school exhibition opens in Ryogoku on August 2
Maps, documents and new work trace Medicine Infrastructure, a project that lends artworks to homes and facilities.
GALLERY MoMo Ryogoku opens Tomoko Konoike's solo exhibition 'Mapping Medicine Infrastructure: Tomoko Konoike Summer School' on Sunday, August 2, 2026. It runs through Sunday, September 6, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The exhibition maps Konoike's recent projects and presents planning sketches, materials, texts, photographs and video. It also includes new work in progress, such as wolf benches and finger puppets, connected to Medicine Infrastructure, an initiative that lends artworks free of charge to facilities and private homes.
An opening reception is scheduled for August 2 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The gallery is at 1-7-15 Kamezawa, Sumida City. It will open on Sundays during this exhibition, but close on Mondays and from August 14 through 17. Dates for talks, readings and other summer-school sessions are still being arranged, so check the gallery page for updates before visiting.
