Edo-Tokyo Museum extends application deadline for September 3 ukiyo-e lecture

The lecture uses works from the Idemitsu Museum of Arts and Edo-Tokyo Museum to introduce ukiyo-e, with applications accepted online or by return postcard.

Edo-Tokyo Museum has extended the application deadline for its September 3 lecture on the highlights of the exhibition Ukiyo-e Invitation: The First Collaboration Between Edo-Tokyo Museum and the Idemitsu Collection. The new deadline is Monday, August 24, 2026, replacing the original August 14 deadline.

Museum curators Yura Taku and Iida Tomoko will use works from the Idemitsu Museum of Arts and Edo-Tokyo Museum to discuss how ukiyo-e reflected the latest customs of the Edo period. The lecture runs from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. in the museum's Main Hall and costs ¥1,000.

Advance application is required online or by return postcard; the deadline date is also the valid postmark date for postcards. If applications exceed capacity, places will be assigned by lottery. Edo-Tokyo Museum is at 1-4-1 Yokoami in Ryogoku. Check the official page before applying in case the arrangements change.
