Sensoji has posted its 2026 notice for Shimanrokusen-nichi and the hozuki market on July 9 and 10

The notice covers limited amulets, prayer schedules, and practical details for the two-day observance.

Sensoji has published its 2026 notice for Shimanrokusen-nichi, the July 9 and 10 observance connected with the temple's hozuki market. The temple explains that visiting on these two days is traditionally said to bring the merit of 46,000 days of worship.

For 2026, the notice says Sensoji will offer limited yellow prayer slips, lightning-protection charms, disaster-prevention charms, and good-fortune protection charms only on July 9 and 10. Prayer applications for the inner sanctuary will be accepted at the east-side approach reception desk, with services scheduled at 6:00, 7:00, 8:00, then every 30 minutes from 9:00 until 18:30 on both days, subject to change.

The annual event page also describes the hozuki market as filling the temple grounds with stalls on July 9 and 10. If you plan to visit Asakusa on either day, expect the temple area to be used differently from an ordinary weekday and check the official notice before going.
