Modern water teahouse CU will open in Asakusa Okuyama on July 31

A new shop serving tea, sweets, coffee and alcoholic drinks will open in the Kasuga Building in Asakusa 2-chome.

CU, a new shop described by its operator as a modern version of an Edo-period water teahouse, will open on Friday, July 31, 2026, in the Okuyama area of Asakusa. The address is Kasuga Building, 2-13-1 Asakusa, Taito City.

The announced menu spans Japanese and black tea, coffee, sweets and alcoholic drinks. The operator says the shop is designed as a place to pause between destinations rather than as a single-purpose cafe or bar.

The opening announcement lists hours from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and says the shop closes on irregular days, with details posted on its official Instagram account.
