Sumida Aquarium hosts Sumida Bonin Island 2026 through July 9
The Tokyo Skytree Town aquarium is running displays, workshops, talks, limited menu items, and goods themed around the Ogasawara Islands.
Sumida Aquarium in Tokyo Skytree Town is holding Sumida Bonin Island 2026 from June 4 to July 9, 2026. The event introduces the Ogasawara Islands, also known as the Bonin Islands, through displays and programs inside the aquarium.
The official notice lists panel displays in a 6th-floor special space, a route comparing life from Ogasawara with animals at the aquarium, and the Ogasawara Ikimono Lei workshop at Aqua Academy on the 5th floor. The workshop is accepted on the day, with different hours for weekdays and weekends or holidays.
There are also guest talks, limited cafe menu items at Penguin Cafe, and Ogasawara-themed goods at the museum shop. Some evening talks require advance application, and aquarium admission is separate from free programs, so check the official page before visiting.
