Sumida Aquarium starts Sumida Bonin Island 2026 from June 4 to July 9

The program will trace Ogasawara's nature and daily life through in-aquarium displays, workshops, and limited food items.

Sumida Aquarium will run Sumida Bonin Island 2026 from Thursday, June 4, to Thursday, July 9, 2026, with exhibits and activities themed around the Ogasawara Islands.

The release says the program will include panel displays about the islands' nature, culture, and daily life, plus a walk-through exhibit comparing creatures from Ogasawara with animals living at the aquarium. A same-day workshop called Ogasawara Ikimono Lei will also be held at the 5F Aqua Academy.

The main exhibition is free with aquarium admission. Workshop reception is on the day, and two evening talk sessions require advance application. Limited cafe items will also be sold at the 5F Penguin Cafe during the event period, so check the latest details before visiting.
