The 49th Taito City Art Exhibition opens at Sumida Park Riverside Gallery on September 4

Taito residents, workers and students of high-school age or older can bring eligible works to the venue on August 30.

The 49th Taito City Art Exhibition will run from Friday, September 4 through Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Sumida Park Riverside Gallery in Hanakawado. It is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., closing at 3:00 p.m. on the final day.

The city is accepting Japanese paintings, ink paintings, Western-style paintings, prints and sculptures from people of high-school age or older who live, work or study in Taito City. Each person may enter up to two previously unshown works. Entry is free and no advance application is required.

Works must be brought directly to the gallery from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, and collected from 3:00 to 3:30 p.m. on September 9. Size and mounting rules differ for paintings and sculptures, so entrants should read the official guidelines before delivery. The gallery address is 1-1 Hanakawado, Taito City.
