Sumida Aquarium will open Sumisui Hanabi 2026 on July 14
The summer program runs through September 14 with ceiling projections above the penguin pool and a jellyfish wind-chime corridor.
Sumida Aquarium will hold Sumisui Hanabi 2026 from Tuesday, July 14, to Monday, September 14, 2026, inside the aquarium at Tokyo Skytree Town.
The program includes projection mapping on the ceiling above the fifth-floor penguin pool. During the day, the production is tied to goldfish displays in Edorium and a viewing area on the sixth floor. After 18:10, the evening version is scheduled every 30 minutes, with each show lasting about nine minutes.
The aquarium will also install a corridor of 100 jellyfish-themed wind chimes on the stairs between the sixth and fifth floors. The event itself is free after aquarium admission. From July 27 to August 31, summer-holiday hours are listed as 9:00 to 21:00, with different hours during the Obon period, so check the official notice before going.
