Synchronic Constellation opens at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo on September 5
The exhibition looks across art, film, literature and music to reconsider modern Taiwan and Japan from the 1930s onward.
Synchronic Constellation — Stars That Shared the Same Era: The Gaze of Cross-Boundary Art opens at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo on Saturday, September 5, and runs through Sunday, December 13, 2026. Beginning with the Windmill Poetry Society formed in Taiwan in the 1930s, the exhibition considers links between modern Taiwan and Japan through art, film, literature and music.
The exhibition occupies the first- and third-floor exhibition galleries. Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with last entry 30 minutes before closing. It is generally closed on Mondays, but opens on September 21, October 12 and November 23, followed by substitute closures on September 24, October 13 and November 24.
General admission is ¥2,000; university and vocational students and visitors aged 65 or older pay ¥1,400, middle and high school students pay ¥800, and elementary-age children and younger enter free. The museum is at 4-1-1 Miyoshi, Koto City, about nine minutes on foot from Kiyosumi-shirakawa Station Exit B2. Check the official site before visiting.
