Kiyosumi-Shirakawa's 29th Scarecrow Contest will accept entries from August 24

Fukagawa Shiryoukan-dori Shopping Street will display the completed scarecrows from September 18 through November 3.

Fukagawa Shiryoukan-dori Shopping Street has opened preparations for its 29th Scarecrow Contest in Kiyosumi-Shirakawa. Completed scarecrows can be submitted from August 24 through September 18, 2026, and anyone may enter.

The announced themes are 2026, Kiyosumi-Shirakawa, and an open category. The shopping street says free scarecrow frames have been available since June 29 at Tamakiya, 2-3-13 Miyoshi, for people who want a starting structure for their work.

Accepted scarecrows will be displayed along Fukagawa Shiryoukan-dori Shopping Street from September 18 through November 3. The official notice does not give submission hours or detailed size rules, so participants should contact or check Tamakiya and the shopping street's latest information before bringing a finished work.
