Taikouya renewed its wagashi shop near Kaminarimon on July 13
The Asakusa shop has introduced a redesigned interior with stage-art elements and will hold a renewal event on July 18.
Taikouya Asakusa reopened after renovation on Monday, July 13, 2026. The wagashi shop is at 1-32-1 Asakusa, close to Kaminarimon, and its listed hours are 10:00 to 22:00.
According to the company release, the renewed interior treats each wagashi as a stage performer. A craftsperson who works on kabuki and Noh stage backgrounds hand-painted the pine-tree backdrop. The shop continues to carry items including hon-warabimochi, strawberry daifuku, dango, dorayaki, and seasonal sweets.
A renewal event is scheduled from 14:00 to 17:00 on Saturday, July 18, with limited collaboration products also sold on July 18 and 19. The release says those items are available only while supplies last and that event details may change depending on crowding, so check the issuer's notice before visiting.
