Nikko nature and culture exhibition opens in Asakusa on September 1

A temporary exhibition about the nature, culture and attractions of Nikko City opens at the Asakusa Culture Tourist Information Center on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. The free display runs through Wednesday, September 16, on the sixth and seventh floors. It is open from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., starting at 1:00 p.m. on the first day and closing at 3:00 p.m. on the final day.

The exhibition uses photo panels to introduce Nikko and screens a film about Asian black bears and coexistence with people from September 2 to 15. On September 5, 6, 12 and 13, visitors can also try origami or kanji writing from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with final registration at 3:00 p.m.

Each workshop costs ¥500, takes about 15 minutes and accepts two people per session on a first-come, same-day basis. The center is at 2-18-9 Kaminarimon, Taito City, across from Kaminarimon. Check the Taito City page before visiting in case the schedule changes.
